School Transfers

School transfers from one Government school site to another school should only occur at:

  • The start of the school year (before the first day of school) or

  • The middle of the school year (before term 3 commences).

Transfers outside this arrangement should meet the following conditions:

  • The student's residence changed and is now closer to a different Government school (where requested).

  • A transfer is sought from an Australian school outside the state system. • A transfer is requested (other than in those instances cited above) by a parent/guardian, and each school's Principal supports the request.

  • A student is expelled from school - For students of compulsory school age, the Principal of the school from which the student has been expelled is responsible for ensuring enrolment in another school or registered training organisation; in consultation with the regional office.

  • For all other transfers where the parent appeals against the Principal's decision not to enrol, the transferring Principal makes recommendations to the Regional Director, and the Regional Director determines approval.

Foundation Enrolments

Foundation Enrolments (1st year of school) are advertised via pre-school/ childcare centres in April annually. Now, would be a great time to check you have your child's Birth & Immunisation Certificates as these are a requirement of enrolment.

School Costs Overview

Victorian government schools must provide students with free instruction and ensure students have free access to all items, activities and services that are used by the school to fulfil the curriculum requirements in the 8 key learning areas as outlined in the Victorian Curriculum F–10.

School councils may request parents make voluntary financial contributions towards the cost of schooling under 2 categories: Curriculum Contributions and Other Contributions.
School councils may invite parents to purchase Extra-Curricular Items and Activities – items, activities and services that enhance or broaden the schooling experience of students and are additional to or outside of the school’s delivery of the Curriculum (including alternative forms of instruction). These are provided on a user-pays basis.
School councils may invite parents to supply or purchase their own educational items to use and to own. If a student does not provide or purchase their own educational items, the school must ensure the student has free access to what is needed at school to access the school’s delivery of the Curriculum, in this case students may share school textbooks provided by the school.

School Council have authorised a suggested curriculum contribution amount of $175.00 for 2023. This is voluntary contribution and supports the learning of all children.

School Council have approved a suggested ‘Pencil Case’ list which the students will own, to enable parents to purchase their own essential items.

Optional Extra-Curricular Items and Activities
Camping program – cost determined upon camp selection each year.
The School Council recognises that families will suffer financial difficulties from time to time. Families experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to apply in writing for financial assistance to assist with school costs. The school has avenues for gaining support from charitable organisations and can assist in making applications on behalf of a family.
Fees can be paid at the school office, 8.30-4pm or via BPay using your reference code, at your convenience.

Holders of current Concession Cards can apply for a State Government fund to assist with the cost of Camps, Sports & Excursions (CSEF). Applications must be lodged by the due date and is communicated via our Newsletters & UeducateUs.
